What is a Hormone?
Hormones are tiny chemical messengers, consisting of amino acids, which help our body do different tasks. Hormones are produced by the endocrine glands and then directed all over the body to stimulate various activities. For example, Insulin is a well known hormone that helps our body digest food. Our growth, digestion, reproduction and sexual functions are all triggered by hormones.

What is Human Growth Hormone?
HGH is the master hormone that is produced by the master gland - the pituitary, one of the endocrine glands located in the center of the brain. It up regulates all other glands. Think of it as the symphony conductor. Unlike other hormones, HGH not only prevents premature aging, but because it is present in every cell of your body, HGH has the capacity to significantly reverse a broad range of symptoms associated with aging. Some doctors call it the youth hormone.

Between the ages of 13 and 25 our pituitary produces an abundance of HGH. As we age HGH levels decline, sometimes dramatically. If a person has a faulty lifestyle, is not nutritionally sound, drinks alcohol, eats junk food, smokes, takes drugs, is overweight, lacks exercise, is on medication or under stress, the pituitary shuts down even faster. In today's modern world it is not unusual for a 35 year old to be hypopituitary. Women lose 2% of their lean body tissue and gain 2% body fat every year. Even if their weight remains the same (which is not unusually the case) their body composition begins to change drastically. Everything begins to sag and degenerative diseases associated with old age begin to set in. By age 60 you will probably have lost 75% of the HGH that your body produced. The average HGH secretion level for a 20 year old is 500 micrograms/day; for a 40 year old it is 200 micrograms/day, whilst for an 80 year old it is 25 micrograms/day.

It was originally believed that the pituitary gland just didn't have the capacity to produce large amounts of HGH as we get older. However, recent studies have shown that aging pituitary glands are capable of producing as much HGH as young pituitary glands, if they are adequately stimulated. This shows that the somatotrophe cell, the cell in the pituitary gland that releases HGH, does not "lose power" as we age.

What is Recombinant Human Growth Hormone?
Recombinant Human Growth Hormone may yet prove to be one of the most incredible discoveries of our generation. Science has replicated what the pituitary gland manufactures naturally. Scientists discovered that the human growth hormone consists of a chain of 191 very specific amino acids patterned in a complex and exact sequence. By replicating the exact chain and sequence of amino acids that are naturally produced by the pituitary gland they opened an entirely new and exiting area of medicine.

What Is Human Growth Hormone Restoration Therapy?
It is a protocol of HGH injections self-administered five or six times at week at bedtime. It is only available by prescription for those who have been ascertained by blood test to be deficient in HGH levels.

What's the validity of the alternative, non-injection forms of HGH?
There are two kinds of HGH alternatives on the market - amino acid supplements known as HGH Releasers, Precursors and Secretagogues, and homeopathic remedies: -

(1) HGH Releasers, Precursors and Secretagogues: The overwhelming majority of these products are amino acid based supplements. They normally CONTAIN INGREDIENTS THAT OPTIMIZE PITUITARY AND LIVER FUNCTION, THE TWO GLANDS INVOLVED IN HGH PRODUCTION. There are some good products available in the form of sprays and pills. The one we recommend is sytropin, which we ourselves have tested and found to be working.

Of the hundreds of HGH products on the market, only a handful have conducted testing on their products that they are willing to report. Most HGH products cite medical research and doctor testimonials that are about injectable HGH and NOT about their product! Also, whilst studies on young adults have reported that certain amino acids can increase HGH levels. It is a fact that the best releaser of HGH is strong exercise, good night sleep and a bottle of hgh releaser like sytropin per month.

(2) HGH Homeopathic Remedies: While we usually encourage the use of homeopathy, most of the homeopathic remedies that are being marketed as increasing HGH levels are simply a waste of money and, frankly, do not even conform to homeopathic principals. Only very few homeopathic supplements are upto the mark which actually work.
